In 1995, around 2.1 million people were diagnosed with cancer in Europe. By 2022, that number had grown by nearly 60%. Yet during the same period, cancer deaths increased by only 24%. This indicates that mortality is increasing at a slower rate than incidence, leading to 22 million cancer survivors in the EU in 2020. |
